Properties:Ferrous sulfate is an inorganic substance with the chemical formula FeSO4 and a white powder with no odor. Its crystal hydrate is heptahydrate at room temperature, commonly known as "green alum", light green crystals, weathered in dry air, oxidized to brown basic iron sulfate on the surface in humid air, becoming tetrahydrate at 56.6 °C, and monohydrate at 65 °C. Ferrous sulfate is soluble in water and almost insoluble in ethanol.
 

Applications:
Uses in water treatment:Ferrous sulphate is used for the flocculation purification of water, as well as for the removal of phosphate from municipal and industrial effluents to prevent eutrophication of water bodies.A large amount of ferrous sulfate is used as a reducing agent, mainly to reduce chromate in cement.
Uses in medicine:ferrous sulfate is used to treat iron deficiency anemia; It is also used to add iron to food, and long-term overuse may cause side effects such as abdominal pain and nausea. In medicine, it can also be used as a local astringent and blood tonic agent, and can be used for chronic blood loss caused by uterine fibroids.
Uses in agriculture:Adjust the pH of the soil, promote the formation of chlorophyll (also known as iron fertilizer), and prevent and control yellowing caused by iron deficiency in flowers and trees. It is an indispensable element for acid-loving flowers and trees, especially iron trees. It can also be used as a pesticide in agriculture to prevent and control wheat smut, apple and pear scabs, and fruit tree rot diseases; It can also be used as fertilizer to remove moss and lichen from tree trunks.
